Weatherization is a critical, yet often times overlooked, area of need for the low income, disabled and elderly citizens in the North Georgia region.
Weatherization Services funds are used to improve the conditions of eligible low-income clients’ homes. The program is designed to reduce home heating and cooling costs by improving energy efficiency and ensuring health and safety. Priority is given to low-income elderly and disabled individuals.
Our service is designed to lessen the impact of the high cost of home heating and cooling on low-income and elderly families. The offset is accomplished through a variety of measures including, but not limited too:
- attic insulation
- wall insulation
- minor heating repairs
- replacement and installation of more energy efficient appliances.
The end result of these measures is much needed cost savings to the occupants of the home.
*Please note, many of our programs require individuals to meet federal income guidelines in order to receive services.
